ORDINANCE NO. 1397 <br />SERIES 2002 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.20.160 OF THE LOUISVILLE <br />MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROHIBIT THE PARKING OR STORAGE OF TRAILERS <br />AND SIMILAR NON-MOTORIZED APPARATUS WITHIN FRONT AND SIDE <br />YARDS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to state law, including but not limited to C.R.S. {}31-23-301 et <br />seq., the City is authorized to regulate the uses of land within the City for the purposes of, b~ <br />way of example and not limitation, conserving the value of buildings and land; encouraging the <br />appropriate use of land; ensuring compatibility of uses; and promoting health, safety and general <br />welfare; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to such authority and for such purposes, the City Council desires <br />to prohibit the parking or storage of trailers and similar non-motorized apparatus within front and <br />side yards within the City. <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Section 17.20.160 of the Louisville Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows (words to be added are underlined; words to be deleted are stricken through): <br /> <br />Sec. 17.20.160. <br /> <br />Parking limitations on front and side yards. <br /> <br />A. It is unlawful for any person to park a motor vehicle, or for any person as <br />owner, lessee, tenant or occupant of any residential lot to permit a motor vehicle <br />to be parked, in the front yard of a residential lot except on the paved driveway <br />which is intended for parking or access to the garage or carport. Further, On <br />residential comer lots, no motor vehicle may be parked in the side yard of a <br />residential lm~a; .... * *" *~'~ street unless the side yard is enclosed with a privacy <br />fence six feet in height constructed in full compliance with this Code, including <br />vision clearance requirements. <br /> <br />B. It is unlawful for any person to park a trailer, or for any person as owner, <br />lessee, tenant or occupant of any residential lot to permit a trailer to be parked, in <br />the front yard of a residential lot for more than 72 consecutive hours. Further, no <br />trailer may be parked in the side yard of a residential lot unless the side yard is <br /> <br />enclosed with a privacy fence at least four feet but no more than six feet in height~ <br />constructed in full compliance with this Code, including vision clearancc <br /> <br />requirements. <br /> <br />BC. For the purposes of this section.'~ "motor vehicle" has the meaning set out <br />in the Model Traffic Code for Colorado Municipalities as from time to time <br />adopted by ordinance of the city council.
