PROPOSED AMENDEMENT TO DRAFT <br />RESOLUTION <br />Resolution of the City Council of the City of Louisville, Colorado establishing an Open Space <br />Parks and Trails Advisory Board. <br />WHEREAS, as of January 1, 1991, the citizens of Louisville authorized a 3/8% sales and <br />use tax to acquire land for open space, parks, trails, wildlife habitats, wetland preservation <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, City Council previously commissioned an Open Space Task Force to <br />identify and prioritize land acquisitions, which has led to many of the recent land <br />purchases, and a Parks and Trails Task Force and; <br />WHEREAS, City Council adopted the Louisville Parks Master Plan in March, 1992 <br />which provided a framework for the orderly and consistent planning, acquisition, <br />development and administration of parks; <br />WHEREAS, Since 1993 the City of Louisville secured purchases or easements on over <br />600 acres of open land and; <br />%%:H E AS, City Cau octl adapted the Louisu�ll <br />e Open Space Master Plan in /995 an <br />WHEREAS, City Council also recognizes the need to develop plans to inventory, and <br />manage the open land and to update the master plans, and; <br />WHEREAS, City Council is committed to using the knowledge and expertise of the <br />community and advocates citizen involvement in all aspects of city government; <br />NOW THEREFORE, be resolved by the Louisville City Council as follows: <br />Section 1: Creation of Committee <br />There is hereby established the Louisville Open Space, Parks and Trails Advisory Board for the <br />purposes stated in this resolution. The Louisville Open Space, Parks and Trails Advisory Board <br />may be referred to as the "Board" in this resolution. <br />Section 2: Purpose of the Board <br />The Board shall serve solely in an advisory capacity bringing forth recommendations to the <br />Louisville City Council. Duties and responsibilities of the Board include but are not limited to: <br />A. Inventory current open space and park lands, and their biological/ecological <br />resources, and maintain/update such an inventory, <br />Recommend ecolo <br />gically sound.; effective land management plans /practices for <br />
