Objectives <br />Downtown Louisville: <br />Economic Profile, Niche Marketing Strategy <br />Implementation Gameplan <br />Draft Scope of Services <br />(Revised 4/99) <br />Develop an economic profile and niche strategy that identifies market -driven <br />opportunities to collaboratively promote, manage and sustain Downtown Louisville. <br />Create a distinct identity that strengthens Downtown Louisville as unique niche <br />destination within the regional marketplace. <br />Identify new business opportunities to improve Downtown Louisville's retail and <br />service mix in a manner that enhances its existing character and sense of place. <br />Provide recommendations to the City of Louisville on policy issues to accommodate <br />future development, including zoning, parking, etc. <br />Engage Downtown property owners, businesses and civic leaders in a participatory <br />process that builds "ownership" in collaborative marketing initiatives and <br />improvements. <br />Suggested Scope of Services <br />P.U.M.A. proposes a three -step process to complete an economic profile, niche <br />marketing strategy and implementation gameplan: <br />Project Steering Committee: To guide the process and provide the consultant team <br />with a sense of reality, a 10 to 15 member Project Steering Committee would be formed. <br />The Project Steering Committee should include representatives from the Downtown Business <br />Association, City staff, key Downtown property and /or business owners and other <br />appropriate stakeholders. The Project Steering Committee would meet periodically with the <br />consultant team to review progress and provide creative input into the strategic and tactical <br />components of the scope. <br />Steering Committee "Interpretive Workshops At the completion of each step <br />of the process, the Steering Committee would meet in a 2 to 3 hour "Interpretive Workshop" <br />to review findings and set the direction for the next step of the project. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
