WHEREAS, The City of Louisville has received the Tree City Award from the National <br />Arbor Day Foundation for 15 consecutive years; and <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />NOW THEREFORE, <br />NATIONAL RECREATION PARKS MONTH <br />Louisville Parks and Recreation has been nationally recognized for <br />excellence in Parks and Recreation Management through the National <br />Recreation Parks Association and the Sports Foundation; and <br />Parks and Open Space enhance community aesthetics and property values <br />within the city; and <br />There is a strong correlation between parks and recreation programs and <br />crime prevention and Louisville has Colorado's lowest crime rate; and <br />Louisville Parks and Recreation has become a major resource for part-time <br />employment especially to youth; and <br />Volunteers donate thousands of hours to provide recreation activities in <br />Louisville; and <br />Special events for July include park concerts at Cottonwood park, a <br />photography contest, and a free day at the recreation center; <br />I, Tom Davidson, Mayor of the City of Louisville, do declare July as <br />National Recreation and Parks month in Louisville and encourage all <br />citizens to take advantage of the leisure opportunities offered through the <br />City of Louisville <br />
