Animal enforcement or Bee inspectors? <br /> <br /> <br />Should the hives be registered? <br /> <br /> <br />Should the property have a sign that identifies the presence of hives? <br /> <br /> <br />If property has signage, what should it include? Name, Telephone <br /> <br /> <br />Number. <br />How to deal with a nuisance hive. <br /> <br /> <br />Define the flyover area. <br /> <br /> <br />How to educate the public. <br /> <br /> <br />Pelanne stated the Windsor Ordinance can provide good beginning points of <br />discussion for a Louisville ordinance. <br />Commission Questions: <br />Lipton asked if there are any animals that are attracted to beehives. <br />Pelanne stated that bears are attracted, however, with the correct storage of hive <br />equipment the hive should not attract uninvited animals. <br />Hartman stated she had no questions at this time. <br />Loo asked for a clarification of the map with the red dots that was included in the <br />meeting packet material. <br />Pelanne stated the red dots represent the approximate location of where people <br />live in Louisville that had sent her emails of support of beekeeping in Louisville. <br />Loo also asked if Pelanne or staff knew how the insurance industry treated <br />beekeeping on a homeowners policy. <br />Neither Pelanne nor staff could answer the question. They both indicated they <br />would research that questions. <br />Pritchard asked how a nuisance issue between neighbors could be addressed. <br />Pelanne stated the complaint should be addressed between neighbors. She <br />continued with a review of the how some other communities have addressed the <br />nuisance issue. <br />Pritchard inquired about a swarm of bees and how can they be relocated. <br /> <br />
