PAGE THREE
SUBJECT: PLANNING COMMISSION 2009 2010 WORK PLAN
DATE: AUGUST 11, 2009
Planning Commission comments reflect the need to discuss `character preservation'. To
conduct a fully facilitated design charrette for old town is not contemplated and not within
the budget or anticipated work program for 2009.
6. Subdivision Re -Plat Review Criteria
Review Planning Commission criteria and process for reviewing subdivision re -plat requests of
residential parcels in order to determine whether the existing criteria and process overlaps
and /or conflicts with the criteria used by the Board of Adjustments.
Provide recommendations to City Council related to simplifying the process of
reviewing sub division re -plat requests.
Ensure that the review criteria consider the preservation of neighborhood character
and other Comprehensive Plan goals.
7. Revisit Telecommunication /CMRS Facility Regulations Chapter 17.42
The Telecommunication /CMRS Facility regulations were drafted over 10 years ago when the
wireless technology was relatively new and wireless service was not considered to be more of
a convenience and not a necessity as they are today. Wireless technology has continued to
evolve and Louisville needs to be prepared to support new wireless voice and data
technologies which might require changes in regulations related to antenna placement and
designs.
Do the current CMRS regulations need to be modified to reflect current industry
standards?
Provide potential recommendations to City Council related to the need to modify the
current Telecommunication /CMRS facility regulations.
8. Amend the Louisville Municipal Code to incorporate an Open Space Zone
Designation.
The City's Charter requires the City to adopt an open space zone designation into the City's
available zoning categories.
If directed by City Council, coordinate with Open Space Advisory Board to review
and potentially make recommendations for the inclusion of an open space zone
designation consistent with the requirements of the City's Charter.
FISCAL IMPACT: There will not be a Fiscal Impact to the City of Louisville based on the above
work plan
RECOMMENDATION: City Council shall approve the Planning Commission 2009 -2010 Work
Plan as presented.
ATTACHMENT(S): None.
