The items listed were <br />gathered directly from the work plans both boards presented to City Council at <br />their respected work sessions. <br />The following is a brief description of the adopted documents which guide <br />requests for structure remodels or new construction in downtown and adjoining <br />old town residential area: <br />Downtown Framework Plan <br />The Plan is a policy document adopted in 1999 representing the collective input <br />of the City Council, Downtown Steering Committee, property owners, residents, <br />the business community, Planning Commission and Staff. The Plan as well as <br />the Downtown Design Handbook were developed with consulting support from <br />Winter and Company. Over the course of 15 months, several public workshops <br />and public hearings were held to solicit broad community input on the Framework <br />Plan. <br />The Framework Plan has the following components. <br />1. Identifies specific issues for the downtown district and overall project goals. <br />2. Defines the `Vision' for Downtown Louisville. <br />3. Identifies nine essential systems that have important influences on <br />Downtown.
