Planning Commission and Historic Preservation Commission
Joint Study Session Summary
SEPETEMBER 30, 2009
As currently written is page 51 mandatory? Consensus from the group
was that it is unclear and needs clarification. The group looks to council to
determine if page 51 is mandatory.
If the answer is “Yes” then projects need to be reviewed differently
o
and council should define the process
If the answer is no then this is a policy issue that has to go to city
o
council for direction to determine if we want to make them
mandatory.
Committee would not want to make pg. 51 mandatory without buy in from
property owners
Recommendation #2
Streamline the review process for minor changes to historic
o
buildings (i.e. windows).
Identify a process for involving HPC with page 51 requirements
o
Staff will present the findings of the group to City Council at the next available
meeting.
