Historical Commission
Minutes
August 19, 2009

VIII. Possible Reevaluation of Commission 2009 Priorities and Projects
regarding the Jordinelli House and Museum storage needs: Just prior to this
meeting, Commission members toured the Museum and were given information
about storage needs for artifacts, archival records, Commission-owned items,
and other items. Bridget Bacon then passed out a list of possible volunteer tasks
for Commission members relating to the Jordinelli House. Members discussed
the list and some volunteered to take on particular tasks. Members also
discussed the possibility of eventually hiring a consultant who might be able to
advise on long term storage needs to preserve the Museum's collection and free
up space in the Jordinelli House.

IX. Committee Reports:
A. Historical Walking Tour - The tour that Anne Robinson gave to the
membership of Historic Boulder was very well attended and well received.
Approximately 53 people showed up for the tour on August 5th. Anne stated
her willingness to give a similar tour in the future for Historical Society
members.
B. Volunteers for Labor Day booth: At the last meeting, it was decided that the
Commission should have a booth on Labor Day at Community Park. Brian
Chamberlin, Diane Marino, Dustin Sagrillo, and Anne Robinson volunteered
to help.
C. Oral History Project: Diane Marino and Dustin Sag rill 0 reported that they
have about 7.5 hours of taped interviews with past and present Louisville
residents completed.
D. History Book Club: Anne Robinson stated that members will be meeting on
Wednesday, September 2 to pick history topics for the year. The book club
will be meeting the first Wednesday of the month.
E. Holiday Home Tour: Sally Burlingame reminded the Commission that it will
take place on Saturday, December 5. Five sets of homeowners have
generously agreed to have their historical downtown homes on the tour.
Colleen Vandendriessche is working to solicit sponsors. She and Meredyth
Muth met with the Downtown Business Association in order to encourage
participation from downtown businesses. Sally Burlingame reported that the
Methodist Church will sponsor the craft boutique this year, which will free up
her time to work on other aspects of the tour.
F. Membership: no questions from the Commission members about the
membership report.

X. Chairperson's Report: Dan Mellish mentioned that despite some setbacks with
the recent City budget problems, the Commission was doing well.

XI. Motion to Adjourn - The meeting was adjourned at 8:36 PM on the motion of
Dave Ferguson.
