<br />Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />September 16, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />VIII. Museum Coordinator's Report <br />A. Deeds of Gifts <br />1. Mark Leiding - scan of photo of Ethel and Fred Lawrence and their family <br />2. Vera Taylor - numerous historical items, including a scrapbook from when <br />she graduated from Louisville High School in 1925 and photos, "Lookout" <br />newspapers, and "Cargo" yearbooks from her time as a teacher at Louisville <br />High School <br />3. Bridget Bacon - flyers from successful 2003 library campaign; flyers and <br />yard sign from successful 2008 historic preservation tax campaign; <br />Pasquini's menu from 2005; and last edition of the Rocky Mountain News in <br />2009 <br />B. The Commission approved the expenditure of $34.40 for magnetic nametags. <br />C. Purchase of Artifacts for the Museum: Bridget Bacon brought the Commission <br />up to date on the status of unique Louisville related items acquired for the <br />Museum from the estates of Lucille DiGiacomo Gray and her mother, Susie <br />DiGiacomo. The Commission was informed that numerous items, including <br />photos and documents relating to Louisville, from these estates are in the <br />process of being donated to the Museum. The Commission then approved the <br />purchase of additional artifacts for $167.00. <br /> <br />IX. Committee Reports <br />A. Smaldone Book Signing: Anne Robinson and Alice Koerner will coordinate with <br />the Cultural Council regarding a joint event/book signing of the book by Dick <br />Kreck about the Smaldone family. <br />B. Fall Festival Booth: There was low turnout at the Museum's booth at Community <br />Park on Labor Day. The Commission discussed the possibilities of in the future <br />moving the booth to the outside the Museum on Labor Day, having a float in the <br />parade, and/or organizing activities for children on the street next to the <br />Museum prior to the parade <br />C. Oral History Project Update: A walk through downtown Louisville with Ed <br />Domenico and several hours of interviews with Louisville residents have been <br />completed. A next step is for DVD copies to be made. In addition to the <br />interviews becoming part of the Historical Museum's archives, in the future the <br />interviews could possibly be edited and shown on Channel 8 or presented as a <br />historical program, or form the basis of a book. <br />D. Book Club: Anne Robinson reported that the next meetings are October 7,2009 <br />with the topic of Colorado biographies; November 4, 2009 with the topic of <br />railroads of the West; and December 2, 2009 with the topic of Louisville history. <br />E. Holiday Home Tour: <br />1. Anne Robinson is willing to coordinate ticket sales and drop off tickets to <br />businesses, homeowners and hosts; Dan Mellish and Jean Morgan can <br />deliver posters around town; Pat Seader will contact Stan's Auto to place a <br />notice on their sign. <br />2. New members may sign up for memberships on the day of the home tour for <br />a reduced rate of $10 and $15. <br />3. Colleen Vandendriessche has lined up four sponsors at the $200 level. It <br />was decided that these sponsors will be given a Business Sponsorship as <br />part of their donation, in addition to publicity and acknowledgement as amHome Tour sponsor. <br />
