Approval of Meeting Minutes October 13, and October 20, 2009 PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Councilor Muckle reminded the public November 3, 2009 is the last day to cast their mail ballots. Ballots can be dropped off at the County Annex at 722 Main Street or at the Steinbaugh Pavilion. Mayor Sisk congratulated and thanked the candidates for City Council. He noted the candidates in contested races conducted themselves with dignity and were respectful of each other. He expressed his thanks to Councilors Sackett, Muckle and Yarnell for their service to the City. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT City Manager Fleming reported the following: City Council Meeting Minutes November 2, 2009 Page 2 of 14 The Public Service Franchise (Xcel Energy) gives the City first right of refusal on a certain property purchase. Specifically, Xcel is selling the former Gas Compressor Station property on Dillon Road. The property is 7.8 acres and appraised at $722,500. The deadline to respond is January 28. Curbside leaf pickup in the downtown area has been discontinued. Leaf drop -off stations throughout the City opened on November 2. Fine Gardening Magazine recommends mowing leaves into the lawn. A link to the Fine Gardening article is on the City's Web site. The City's Street Plowing Plan /Map outlines the priority for street plowing after a snow storm. The main arterial streets are plowed first, then the collector streets and if necessary, the neighborhood streets. Two seven member crews work 12 -hour shifts. The Plan is on the City's Web Page.
