I am enclosing a copy of our packet for the Incentive Program. Please review the
packet and contact me if you have any questions. The packet delineates the
rehabilitation elements that are available for funding. The HPC has two
professional architects on board who can provide design assistance should you
find a need. The State Historic Preservation Office also provides funding for
historic buildings. One such fund is known as a Technical Assistance Grant
(TAG) that could pay for an architectural review of the structural stability of the
structure which would provide recommendations for stabilizing the structure.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding the above
information. This structure is considered a cultural landmark of the community
and has been so for several generations. Please consider exhausting all of the
funding resources available to you before you move forward with demolition of
this historic structure.
Sincerely,
Sean McCartney
Principal Planner
Cc: Malcolm Fleming, City Manager
Paul Wood, Planning Director
Mike Jones, Chief Building Official
Bonnie Star, Economic Development Director
Mike Koertje, Chair, Historic Preservation Commission
Heather Lewis, Historic Preservation Commission
Melanie Muckle, Historic Preservation Commission
Peter Stewart, Historic Preservation Commission
Laurel Tofte, Historic Preservation Commission
Steven Williams, Historic Preservation Commission
