<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 20,2009 <br />Page 8 of 15 <br /> <br />of business information will be maintained, which will include the number of <br />company employees, the headquarters locations, the CEO name and contact <br />information and email addlresses. The City will be able to notify businesses of <br />activities affecting them. If the proposed ordinance is adopted, it is estimated it <br />will generate approximately $17,000 of revenue annually. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk opened the public hearing and requested public comment. <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Eva Kosinski, 1301 Jackson Court, Louisville, CO asked why the City cannot <br />collect all the company information without collecting a fee. She suggested the <br />Council pass an ordinance requiring businesses to report their company <br />information to the City. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilor Sackett supporh:~d 13conomic development and a database of company <br />information, but opposed a business registration fee. He felt the timing was not <br />right for local businesses. <br /> <br />Councilor Dalton voiced his support of the business registration fee and noted <br />there is already a requirement for businesses to register. He did not feel it was <br />punitive to collect a fee. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk understood Councilor Sackett's point of view, but noted other <br />municipalities charge more than $25.00 for a business registration fee. He <br />stressed this is a very important component for funding economic development, <br />which will assist the business community and the importance of passing the <br />budget. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />MOTION: Councilor Dalton moved to approve Ordinance No. 1559, Series 2009 <br />on final reading, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Marsella. Roll call vote was taken. <br />The motion carried by a vote of 6-1. Councilor Sackett voted no. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE No. 1560, SERIES 2009 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />SUBSECTION C OF SECTION 3.20.270 OF THE lOUISVlllE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE TO ELIMINATE THE VENDOR'S FEE AUTHORIZED FOR THE <br />COllECTION AND REMITTANCE OF SALES TAX - 2nd Reading <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a City Attorney introduction. <br />
