City Manager Malcolm Fleming was present to clarify and answer any <br />questions regarding the transition (see letter from Malcolm Fleming with <br />agenda packet). <br />C. The Commission approved $300 for a plaque denoting the historical origin of the fence <br />in front of the Tomeo House. <br />D. Virginia Caranci will be honored at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 1, <br />2009 in recognition of her 30 years of service on the Historical Commission. <br /> <br />VIII. Museum Coordinator's Report <br />A. Deeds of Gifts - The Commission approved the following donations: <br />1. Ed Helmstead - Map of the Pluto Mine <br />2. Duane Elrod - Items from the Elrod and Porta families, including historical <br />photos, business items from the Wagon Wheel Inn, receipts from Louisville <br />businesses, and household items <br />3. Ella Marie Hayes - Scans of photos relating to the Balent family, including <br />family photos, photos of their home at 829 Lincoln Ave., and Miners Field <br />4. William Stengel - Miner's pick and links used to connect coal cars <br />5. Arlene Leggett - Newspaper articles, including articles on the Grain Elevator, <br />Louisville Recreation Center opening in 1990, and Louisville teacher Lydia <br />Morgan <br />6. Dean DeSantis - Items relating to Louisville High School, including football <br />programs and "Lookout" school newspapers <br />B. The Commission approved $50 for sales tax license and business registration <br />renewals for 2010. <br />C. Jordinelli House - Possible volunteer tasks were discussed, and it was decided to <br />further discuss Museum and Commission storage issues at upcoming meetings. <br />D. The Cultural Council is interested in hosting a barbooth night, possibly in conjunction <br />with the Historical Commission. Bridget Bacon will let the Cultural Council know of <br />the Historical Commission's interest. <br /> <br />IX. Museum & Commission Projects <br />A. The Commission selected Frank Domenico, Jr. to be the recipient of the 2010 <br />Pioneer Award. Dave Ferguson will present the award to the Domenico family at the <br />Chamber of Commerce banquet in January. <br />B. Equipment and expenses for the Oral History Program will be discussed at the <br />January meeting. <br />C. The History Book Club will meet on December 2nd, with the topic of Louisville history. <br />D. Holiday decorating of the Museum is scheduled for November 28th. Several <br />Commission members volunteered to help. <br />E. The Commission approved a payment of $1 ,250 to Marion Junior for holiday <br />ornaments. The price of ornaments for purchase is $10. <br />F. Parade of Lights Open House is scheduled for 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday, December <br />4th. Tours of the Tomeo House will be available upon request. Several Commission <br />members volunteered to be on hand for the event. <br />G Holiday Home Tour update <br />1. Hosts for the homes, and homeowners, attended orientation/training sessions. <br />2. House histories will be provided for each home. <br />3. There will be free carriage rides in downtown Louisville, courtesy of the <br />Downtown Business Association, and the DBA and merchants have planned <br />events for the day in conjunction with the tour. <br />4. Posters are being placed with merchants in town. <br />
