Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />April 2, 2009 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />content. Chris, Dean and Joe would like to schedule an informal meeting with <br />the Planning Dept to discuss tree protection guidelines. <br /> <br />John Breaux City Clean-up Day <br />- Saturday, May 9. Activities may include a <br />community pancake breakfast; from there volunteers will be organized into <br />groups and assigned specific areas of town. Question was raised whether it <br />would be feasible to separate recyclables out of litter being collected. <br />Chris also reported that the City will plant a tree and install a memorial plaque at <br />the cemetery. <br /> <br />Arboretum <br />- Tree identification signs are finished. Of the 220 signs, Chris <br />hopes to install about 150 before Arbor Day (only where new posts are in place.) <br />Boulder County Youth Corps will complete installation of the remaining posts and <br />signs this summer. <br />The Xeric Garden maintenance crew may be able to weed before Arbor Day. <br />Chris also plans to reseed the area around the pergola with a native grass mix. <br /> <br />Website <br />- City website update is almost complete; HFAB section will soon <br />have tree protection information (see above.) <br /> <br />Jim Ord Presentation <br />– Thursday, April 30, 6:30 – 8:00 pm, Library Meeting <br />Room. Jim will provide brochures and other printed material from his company. <br /> <br />Next Meeting Thursday, May 7, 7:00 <br /> <br />Adjourn <br /> – The meeting was adjourned at 8:00. <br />
