Concept: <br />a. Alternate uses for Parcels that neither: <br />1. Have indigenous plant life, <br />11. Have riparian qualities, <br />111. Support a diverse wildlife habitat <br />iv. Have substantive vistas or view corridors <br />b. New approved usage for the benefit of the City and ultimately of the city's residence. <br />i. Power generation <br />1. Solar <br />2. Wind <br />3. Geothermal <br />4. Bio plant production <br />5. Yet undiscovered <br />11. Eco balance <br />1. Carbon capture <br />2. Yet undiscovered <br /> <br />3. Reasons to create alternatives uses: <br />a. The city of Louisville needs to be more energy self sufficient in the future and pollute less <br />and use less of the worlds resources to truly be a green community. <br />b. As a community, our efforts to protecting parcels ofland in a more natural state, by <br />incorporating chosen land into our Open Space conservation could within 2 generation <br />become meaningless; if the community continues to pollute in a manner that slowly is <br />eroding our environment and the very habitat we meant to protect. <br />c. Expenses to maintain Open Space continue to escalate and will not abate: <br />1. Re-vegetate damage areas <br />2. Maintain trails <br />3. Employ staff <br />4. Prairie dog control efforts <br />5. Other <br />d. Citizens will not always have an open wallet to maintain vast amounts of land in Open <br />Space <br />1. We must start now to find means for Open Space to become: <br />1. Cost neutral to the community. <br />2. Generate revenue for city <br />3. Save the city money in offsets <br />e. Protect Open Space for future generations by: <br />i. Setting in motion a systems that: <br />1. Insure Open Space is cost neutral to the citizens of Louisville <br />11. We insure the long-term viability of our City owning and operation public lands in <br />the Open Space conservation. <br /> <br />4. Process <br />a.
