Frost Yarnell informed us not to count on the $5,000 that was already approved <br />from the City due to Sam's Club departure <br />g. After a lengthy discussion, Maryan moved to approve the budget, seconded by <br />Julie; approved by everyone except Don Atwood who was opposed. <br /> <br />IX. Approval of Designation of Places for Posting of Notice of Public Meetings <br />I. moved by Julie Kovash; second by Andy Langford, all approved <br /> <br />X. City Staff Update <br />a. Open government ethics policy distributed <br />b. Heat Relief dinner at Rec Center during our next meeting <br />c. City Council Work Session: April 13th <br />d. Working with Coal Creek Theater and Center Stage on contracts <br /> <br />XI. City Council Update - Frost Varnell <br />The departure of Sam's Club will cost the City over $700,000 in tax revenue. It was a <br />total surprise and will take us years to recover. Safeway & Albertsons are still of <br />concern. The City Council will go on an emergency retreat over the weekend to revise <br />the budget downward. <br /> <br />XII. Art in the Park - Maryan Jaross <br />The Call for Entry is almost ready; the timeline has to be revisited because of delays in <br />getting approved contracts from the City Attorney's office <br /> <br />XIII. New Arts Center - Don Atwood <br />a. Looking for economic impact study from CU <br />b. Trying to get book of plans from Marcel <br />c. Acknowledged that it was probably good that we were not repeating the <br />exercise of having CU Architecture students build more models for Arts Center <br />Dreams <br /> <br />XIV. FundraisinglSponsorships <br />a. Justine will attend a grant-writing workshop with Julie Kovash and take a look <br />at Community Foundation. <br />b. Maryan will look into BCAA <br />
