Department of Transportation regarding their current process for technical analysis of two new
proposed interchanges at 92nd & 98th Streets along US 36 as proposed by the City of Broomfield.
The letter is requesting that the process be open to the public. Copies of the letter will be distributed
to Council. Maps identifying the area proposed to be annexed by the City of Broomfield were
displayed. The agenda for the Work Session on May 26, 1998 was discussed, and copies of the
agenda for the 1999 Budget Goal Setting Session were distributed.

COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS

Sisk asked whether NeoData has submitted a permit requesting approval to change their signs.

Simmons stated NeoData was asked to submit an application to change the signs. Staff has
discussed sending NeoData notification by mail of their sign violations.

Sisk commended staff, Councilmember Howard, Mayor Davidson and others for their time and
effort spent researching and evaluating the City's computer needs.

Mayer reported that he met with Senator Terry Phillips regarding two items of legislation
recently passed by the Senate and the House. One item removes the $5,000 limit on contributions
and the other allows the City to levy a lodging tax. Mayer stated he will be out of town for
approximately six weeks; therefore, he will not be able to attend any Council meetings during
that time.

Keany invited Council to attend the Louisville/Lafayette combined Chamber of Commerce
Business After Hours on May 20 at Karen's in the Country from 5-7 p.m. He reported that the
Housing Authority hopes to receive the revised appraisal on the Regal Court properties soon.

Davidson commented that tonight Council approved the bid award for landscaping the gateway
parcel, and the bid came in significantly under budget. He proposed using the remaining funds
budgeted for the project to landscape the entire parcel and asked if anyone would be opposed to
that. All in favor.

ADJOURNMENT

Sisk moved to adjourn (10:50 p.m.), seconded by Howard. All in favor.

12
