<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 5,2010 <br />Page 4 of 8 <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved to appoint Alan Hill, Tienken & Hill, L.L.P. as Water <br />Attorney, seconded by Councilor Muckle All in favor. Absent: Councilor <br />Yarnell. <br />Municipal Court Judge Bruce Joss swore in City Attorney Sam Light and Water <br />Attorney Alan Hill. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light voiced his gratitude to the Mayor and City Council for his <br />appointment and stated it was his great honor to serve as City Attorney. He <br />thanked the citizens of Louisville, the City staff and his law office associates and <br />staff members. <br /> <br />Water Attorney Hill voiced his appreciation to the Mayor and City Council for his <br />appointment and stated he takes great pride in representing the City as Water <br />Attorney and is pleased to work in downtown Louisville. <br /> <br />BI-MONTHLY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE <br /> <br />Economic Development Direcltor Star updated Council of the following economic <br />development activities in the City of Louisville: <br /> <br />The Post Office Building: Intelrviews have been conducted with an out of state <br />developer. The goal is to get a high quality development or retailer. <br /> <br />ConocoPhillips - The City Stalf is very busy working with the project. <br /> <br />The City facilitated a meeting with Xcel Energy to provide more power to <br />Centennial Valley and CTC. <br /> <br />Business Assistance Packages: Fresca Foods expects occupancy in mid-2010. <br />Glacier Ice Cream anticipates opening in April. A new BAP is expected at the <br />next City Council Meeting for 81 Medical Instrument Manufacturer. <br /> <br />New business to Louisville: The Velodyne Company; Senior 1's s is under <br />contract; Colorado Plastics is relocating from Boulder to Louisville; two offers <br />have been received for the Santa Fe Grill building. Two prospective new <br />business owners will be visitin~~ Louisville in the next two weeks; Yari from <br />Helsinki with a snowboarding company and MJ from Iowa on a pizza restaurant <br />proposal. A commercial realtor reported on bidding wars on some rental space <br />available in Louisville. <br /> <br />Value of participation with the regional and state-wide economic development <br />agencies: The Metro Denver Economic Development Agency hosted the Xcel <br />Energy meeting at their offices in Denver and the Office of Economic <br />Development International Trade attended the meeting to show support for the <br />request. A showing was gained for a primary employer in CTC through Metro <br />
