<br />City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 16, 2010 <br />Page 3 of 15 <br /> <br />invitation to a "Business After Hours and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony" on <br />Thursday, February 18, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., at the offices, located at 287 <br />Century Circle in Louisville. <br /> <br />COUNCil INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br />THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Councilor Clabots reminded everyone of the Annual Heat Relief Benefit Dinner <br />and Silent Auction at the Louisville Recreation Center on Thursday, February 18, <br />from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Blue Parrot restaurant will cater the event. All <br />proceeds go to Louisville senior citizens who need help paying their heating bills. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk responded to Mr. Sobel's complaint against Comcast Television. He <br />agreed Comcast has not notified cable customers of rate increases and changes <br />to channel lineups. He felt Comcast should acknowledge the appropriate <br />methods of notice. He noted the City has had issues with Comcast over location <br />of their payment center. He agreed Comcast should do a better job and stated <br />the City is represented by GMTC in cable television matters. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk announced as a member of the Mayors along US 36 Coalition, he will <br />join elected officials, RTD and municipal/county staff members in their efforts to <br />obtain TIGER grant money. They will travel to Washington, D.C. next week to <br />lobby for funds for the US 36 Project. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Fleming responded to Mr. Sobel's concerns. Mr. Sobel will receive <br />an email from the City, which addresses Comcast notification process to cable <br />customers on changes to theiir rates and channel lineups. Through Mr. Sobel's <br />efforts and the GMTC, Comcast will provide 30 days notice to cable customers of <br />rate and channel lineup chanlges. <br /> <br />He reported the City completed a successful President Day's training for City <br />employees. The City Hall and the Library were closed. Nearly 100 employees <br />took advantage of the opportunity to receive training.
