By-Laws of the Louisville SUST AINABILITY Resouree CORservatioR Advisory Board ARTICLE I The Board Section 1: The name of the organization shall be the "Louisville SUSTAINABILITY Resource Conservation Advisory Board." Section 2: The office of the Board shall be at such a place in the City of Louisville as the Board may designate from time to time. Section 3: Authority of the Board. The Board shall promote resource conservation and conservation education among citizens, schools, agencies and businesses within the community of Louisville. The Board shall goyem all operations of the Louisyille Recycling Program. The Board shall have the authority to revise ITS By-Laws. ARTICLE II Members Section 1: THE BOARD SHALL CONSIST OF SEVEN MEMBERS, ALL RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE. Members of the Board shall be appointed by the City Council and the Mayor. Section 2: Term of Board Members. Each Member's term shall be for a period of four years. Terms shall be staggered to provide for membership carryover, such that the entire board is not composed of only new members. Terms shall expire on the last day of the calendar year of the final year of the member's tenure. Section 3: Residency requirements for Board Members. All citizen Board Members shall live within the city limits of Louisville. ARTICLE III POSITIONS Oflieers Section 1: Board members shall share responsibility for conducting the business of the Board. Two positions, a Facilitator and a Recorder, shall rotate MONTHLY through the membership such that all members shall have the opportunity to serve in each role, and no member shall dominate either role. The membership as a whole shall decide which member(s) shall serve as spokesperson(s) for the Board, OR REPRESENT THE BOARD IN OTHER ROLES at such times as needed.
