Comments on
non-agenda items: Welcome to new board member Meredith Preston-Eddy!
Suggestion was made to publicize the newly complete Tree Protection Guidelines in the
Louisville Times, perhaps as part of an Arbor Day story. Chris will coordinate with the
Planning Department (interim director is Heather Balser.)

VI. Arbor Day/Earth Day-Chris will contact Ember in Open Space Dept to coordinate
activities, possibly combine with John Breaux cleanup day.

VII. Tree planting at John Breaux Memorial Plaza-Chris suggested planting a red oak.
He is concerned about the possibility that asphalt under the current planting may lead to
compaction of tree roots, suggests vertical mulching to alleviate poor soil condition. He
will do soil test before planting.

VIII. Landscape Maintenance of commercial and HOA properties-Suggestion made to
approach Council during April study session with this "area of concern" in order to
receive feedback and direction. Currently the City is only addressing issues which are
brought up by residents, due to limited funds and staff time.

IX.
