<br />Open Space Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />February 10, 2010 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />Discussion & Action Item: Finalize the Open Space Vision & Mission <br />Statement <br />Ember showed the suggested edits to the Mission Statement Alan Bernat <br />to what entity the Vision & Mission Statements pertain_ Tom answered that they <br />relate to the Open Space Program_ <br />There was discussion about how the wording should be finalized_ The <br />final wording was voted on and agreed to be: <br /> <br />Our Mission: To conserve and restore Open Space through land acquisition and <br />management for the protection of natural and cultural resources and provide <br />opportunities for education, volunteering and appropriate passive recreation <br /> <br />Our Vision: An Open Space program funded for future generations that enriches <br />the experience of living in Louisville by providing opportunities for citizens to <br />reconnect with nature and their cultural heritage while also enhancing their <br />mental and physical well-being_ <br /> <br />Discussion & Action Item: Update Candidates Open Space Table & Map <br />Tom suggested that the Takota property should not be on the list because <br />it is currently entitled for development In addition, KK 1 JJ 1 EE properties have <br />been purchased by Conoco Phillips_ David said that we should leave those <br />properties on the list until we learn what Conoco Phillips' plan is for those areas_ <br />Tom suggested that LL 1 and LL be removed from the list as they, too, have been <br />purchased and are intended for development by Conoco Phillips_ David <br />suggested that #19 be removed, but Tom requested that we keep it in order to <br />reassess the value of the land as open space_ David said that it was highly <br />unlikely that the property would become available as open space_ <br />Tom asked that we plan for a property tour in April or after in order to allow <br />for light <br /> <br />Action Item: Accept Alternative Energy Generation Speaking Notes into <br />Record. <br />David made a motion to accept the notes into the record and Linda <br />seconded_ The approval was unanimous_ <br />Justin and Spencer and David agreed to form a subcommittee to further <br />discuss the idea_ Tom mentioned that he is concerned that codifying open space <br />for alternative energy generation may carry some issues_ Tom also said that he <br />is concerned about fencing_ <br /> <br />Discussion Items for Next Meeting <br />-Conoco-Phillips plans and issues <br />
