pat_wolff_email.txt
From: Planning
Sent: Friday, February 12, 2010 9:09 AM
To: Sean McCartney; Gavin McMillan
Subject: FW: ConocoPhillips building height
Jolene Schwertfeger
Senior Administrative Assistant
Planning Department
-----Original Message-----
From: Pat Wolff [mailto:paw952@gmail.com]
Sent: Thursday, February 11, 2010 5:40 PM
To: Planning
Cc: City Council
Subject: ConocoPhillips building height
To the Planning Commission:
I read about the proposal to allow ConocoPhillips to build new buildings higher than
is allowed by the Louisville City Code.
I urge you NOT to approve any building to be built higher than the current code
allows. There should be no waiver or exemption for ConocoPhillips and no changing
the rules just because a big company wants the change.
The building height limitations are set for a reason. Louisville is not Houston and
we don't want to become like Houston.
The residents of Louisville don't want tall buildings. We want human- scaled
development that is in line with our values and character and small town appeal. We
won't be the "best small town" to live in if we give up what makes Louisville so
special.
You shouldn't have one set of rules for big companies and another set of rules for
the rest of us.
Please reconsider and think about the precedent you are setting.
Sincerely,
Pat Wolff
1545 Kennedy Avenue
Louisville, CO 80027
Page 1
