She urged Council to fund a new multi-purpose gym this year and <br />presented them with a petition containing 26 signatures plus numerous letters supporting this request. <br /> <br />Julie Nelson, 348 Spruce Lane, Louisville, Colorado, supported Linda Hultman's request. She stated <br />that there is no boy's gymnastics program; therefore, her sons carpool to Westminster for <br />gymnastics. In an effort to accommodate all the gymnastics programs, practice times are staggered. <br />Her six-year-old daughter's gymnastics practice ends at 8:00 p.m. Due to this practice time and for <br />safety reasons, she has considered transferring her daughter to a different gymnastics program. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br /> AGENDA <br /> <br />Davidson called for Council informational comments on pertinent items not on the agenda. <br /> <br />Mayer asked to reply to Hultman's comments. He stated that he has asked Steve Baysinger, Director <br />of Parks and Recreation, to look into the program needs at the Recreation Center. One of the <br />possibilities is the use of other facilities. An expansion of the Recreation Center is also being <br />considered; however, if selected, it may take several years to complete. <br /> <br />Lathrop stated that approximately half of the prairie dog comments tonight were reasonable and the <br />remainder were unreasonable. He expressed displeasure for Council being wrongly accused of <br />poisoning prairie dogs and not receiving recognition for trying to do what is right. He stated that <br />Council's record speaks for itself. <br /> <br />Sisk asked to compliment the citizens in attendance at last week's neighborhood meeting on Lake <br />Park.
