City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />February 23, 2009 <br />Page 2of 2 <br />Offenders. A highlight of the discussion was that only 2% of sexual assaults are <br />committed by strangers. Recidivism of sex offenders is not dependent on <br />residence. Goodman stated that the research does not show that zoning <br />restrictions are a viable solution. Public comments were in agreement with <br />Goodman’s research. <br />Energy Report <br />Dave Szabados presented his report on the energy use of the City. He provided <br />information on trends, the results of implementing energy efficient strategies, and <br />the software that monitors the Recreation Center heating and cooling systems. <br />Councilors and Szabados discussed the options to address the significant energy <br />loss from the double doors at the Recreation Center. Public comments facilitated <br />discussion regarding the re-structuring ofdoorwaysto place the doors at the end <br />of an entryway, a revolving door, and a shading device. <br />City Manager Items and Future Agenda Items <br />Meeting adjourned at9:00p.m. –Next Meeting April 6,2010 <br />Submitted by Rhonda Welborn <br />
