City Council <br />Study Session Summary <br />April 27, 2010 <br />Page 2of 3 <br />Develop Sustainable Energy Plan <br />Move to Zero Waste <br />Develop the Support to Achieve Goals <br />Optimize Management of Water Resources <br />Transportation <br />Additionally, the group would like to change its name to the Louisville <br />Sustainability Advisory Board. <br />Council members and LRCAB members discussed some specific program <br />elements including LED street lights, a composting program at the senior meal <br />site and local gardens. <br />Mayor Sisk thanked the LRCAB members for their dedication and service to the <br />community. <br />Update/Discussion –Open Space Advisory Board <br />Mayor Sisk welcomed the Open Space Advisory Board (OSAB) members. Chair <br />Tom Davinroy introduced their members to the Council. They were: Lawrence <br />Crowley, Justine McClure, Helen Moshak, and Linda Smith. <br />OSAB’s staff liaison Ember Brignullgave a presentation highlighting the 2009 <br />accomplishments and 2010 goals of the board. <br />2009 accomplishments included: <br />Dog Off-Leash Survey <br />Renaming of Tamarisk Open Space <br />Increased educational programs <br />Increased volunteer programs <br />New trails and connections <br />Prairie dog management <br />Their 2010 goals are: <br />Provide leadership to better inform residents of open space issues, solicit <br />community input, and foster community involvement. <br />Increase volunteer and educational opportunities. <br />Continue to develop the open space section of the City’s web site <br />Continue to make recommendations and review on land use and open <br />space issues. <br />Council members and OSAB members also discussed open space zoning and <br />the possibility of using open space for renewable energy projects. <br /> <br />
