Call to Order-Chair Mike Frontczak called the meeting to order at 7:10 pm. <br /> <br />II. Roll Call-Board Members Present: Mike Frontczak, Vickie Marra, Theresa <br />Rounds, Matt Tepe, Ellen Toon. Board Members Absent: Kimberly Heestand, <br />Meredith Preston-Eddy. Staff Members Present: Dean Johnson. City Council <br />Member Present: Dave Clabots. Guest: Martha Kenny, Louisville resident. <br /> <br />III. Approval of Agenda-The agenda was approved by all members. <br /> <br />IV. Approval of Minutes-The minutes from the March 4, 2010 meeting were <br />approved, with the following correction: Memory Square renovations were entirely <br />funded with lottery funds. <br /> <br />V. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda: None <br /> <br />VI. City Council Study Session (Tuesday, April 27, time tba)-Mike and Chris will <br />compile a list of topics for session, and email to all HFAB members. Dean would like to <br />include in the list a request to roll funds for capital improvements into installing electrical <br />power to the Arboretum, including a clock for the irrigation system. If money is <br />available, he would like to add a drip irrigation system for the trees, while keeping <br />overhead system for the turf. <br /> <br />VII. Arbor Day/Earth Day (Saturday, April 24 )-Home Depot in Louisville is donating <br />four trees (to be transported by Chris and Dean) for a giveaway to attendees. <br />Discussion of starting cleanup group at Steinbaugh Pavilion to draw attention to tree <br />planting ceremony. Regarding removal of existing honeylocusts in Plaza, Dean is <br />considering leaving three of the four trees in place for the time being, and gradually <br />removing them to lessen the visual impact of complete removal. <br /> <br />VIII. Presentations by Jim Ord and Carol O'Meara-Jim Ord talk is scheduled for <br />Thursday, April 22 at 6:30 pm. HFAB members may be needed to arrange chairs in <br />Library meeting room.
