<br />Youth Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />4/2/1 0 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />VI. Volunteer Activities- report on past functions and plan future opportunities <br /> <br />a. Mar.: Daffodil Sales <br /> <br />. Mandy was not here to update us on this event. But she wanted to thank <br />us for our work <br /> <br />. St. Patty's Day Dinner for Seniors, March 18th, 5:15-7:15pm. <br /> <br />. Turned out great! So glad the seniors had so much fun! Food was great <br />and everyone had a great time. It went so well over all. <br /> <br />b. April: Community Food Share <br /> <br />. A vote was taken and we decided to do the community food share. <br />Handing out bags for people to fill up at King Soopers <br /> <br />· Keep it Clean community clean up, April 30th <br />Postponed until next year don't want to clean up water drainage <br /> <br />c. May: Memory Square Pool Clean Up Project <br /> <br />. Mandy was not at the meeting so we were not updated on this item <br /> <br />VII. Discuss other city boards and commissions <br /> <br />. Bonnie and Joi went to the historic preservation committee. They <br />talked about a google earth type thing that is more local it is called <br />GIS, they also wanted to apply for the State Historic Fund Grant. <br /> <br />. Antonia attended the city council meeting- John Leary didn't want <br />the golf course to lease out the course to the western golf <br />cooperation. They wanted people to attend an environmental <br />seminar at Louisville Middle School on 3/17/10. A discussion was <br />held on an ordinance about building heights and how Conoco <br />Phillips wanted to build buildings larger than what is allowed now. <br /> <br />. Leslie went to the open space advisory board. The board was <br />concerned about Conoco Phillips and if they were going to have <br />public open space on the campus. They wanted to have public <br />open space in the northwest or the northeast corner of the campus. <br /> <br />. Nicole went to the Library Board of Trustees. The Superior library <br />problem was discussed and also Boulder county library taxes. The <br />week of April 17th is National Library Week lots of activities will take <br />place in the library that week. Laptops are being discussed to have <br />for adults who need to work but also have to watch their kids they <br />will be able to use them in the library. <br /> <br />VIII. Discuss recruiting for next term- make plans to do so <br />. Mandy will be talking to the schools in Louisville and letting them know that <br />"elections" are coming up. Just talk to kids in school and on the bus and around <br />the community about "elections". Get interest flowing and get kids to sign up early <br />and stay interested. Talk to student councils and get it in the student bulletin. <br />
