Davis - Executive Director <br /> SUBJECT: Water Tap Abatement for OA Project <br /> DATE: July 3, 1973 <br /> In the course of preparing cost estimates for the <br /> Housing Authority, it has become very realistic that <br /> certain ordinances and city charges that are required <br /> are creating a cost problem for the Housing Authority <br /> 1 to carry out its function, i.e. producing moderate <br /> priced housing within the city for our senior citizens <br /> and our low income families. <br /> The full cost impact at first are hard to see. <br /> However, the city contractor's licience, miscellaneous <br /> insurance, document fees for parks growth, building <br /> permit fees and water tap fees are costs which will <br /> be charged back to the city. Therefore, it would <br /> appear that those ordinances and costs somehow should <br /> be abated to provide a more realistic cost for the IJHA. <br /> Your assistance in providing a solution to this cost <br /> problem for this program will be appreciated. <br /> To provide you with a current status report, the <br /> LHA is contemplating the construction of a ton (.C) <br /> unit apartment house, and are going to purchase a <br /> single family structure, i.e. we are having extreme <br /> difficulty in locating land which is suitable for the <br /> proposed VoTech house and is causing difficulties for <br /> us to hold our agreement with VoTech and Cline Realty <br /> to acquire 'rid structure.
