e; <br /> • <br /> q <br /> (Decision No. 83849) <br /> BEFORE THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION <br /> OF THE STATE OF COLORADO <br /> IN THE MATTER OF THE APPLICATION OF ) <br /> PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF COLORADO, ) APPLICATION t10. 27032 <br /> 550 ISIS STREET, DENVER, COLORADO, )) <br /> FOR AM ORDER AUTHORIZING GAS RATE ORDER OF THE COMMISSION AUTHORIZING <br /> ADJUSTMENT TO TRACK CHANGES IN THE TARIFF FILING ON LESS THAN STATUTORY <br /> COST OF GAS PURCHASED FROM ITS NOTICE <br /> SUPPLIERS. <br /> October 9. 1973 <br /> STATEMENT AND FINDINGS OF FACT <br /> BY THE COMMISSION. <br /> On October 5. 1973, Public Service Company of Colorado, a public <br /> utility subject to Commission jurisdiction, filed this application seeking <br /> authorization of the Commission, without formal hearing, to file certain <br /> gas tariffs upon less than statutory notice. <br /> The gas tariffs sought to be filed on less than statutory notice <br /> of 30 days are proposed to be tiled to become effective on October 23. 1973, <br /> and would result in increases in Apolicant's retail qas rates amounting to <br /> approximately $5.594,526 annually <br /> Applicant purchases its natural pas requirements from two whole- <br /> salers - Colorado: Interstate Gas Company (CIG) and Western Slope Gas Company. <br /> CIG is a division of Colorado Interstate Corporation and an interstate gas <br /> pipeline subject to the jurisdiction of the Federal Power Commission. <br /> Western Slope Gas Company. a r,hclly-owned ,ub..idiary of Applicant, is an <br /> intrastate qas pipeline subject to the jurisdiction of this Commission. <br /> Western Slope Gas Company, in turn. purchases a major portion of its gas <br /> supply from CIG and also purchases some gas from El Paso Natural Gas Company, <br /> another interstate pipeline under FPC jurisdiction. <br />
