V}• <br /> RESOLUTION 73- 53 <br /> WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Lafayette has not <br /> heretofore adopted a written policy regarding annexation of unincorporated <br /> land to the City, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council and the Planning Commission have met <br /> and fully discussed various annexations and their possible ramifications <br /> and meanings, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council desires to adopt a policy for the <br /> guidance of its administrators and advisory groups and potential developers, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, OE IT RESOLVED: <br /> 1. That the City Council, in adopting the Comprehensive Plan and <br /> Expanded Zoning Hap contained therein, a copy of which is attached hereto, <br /> intended to delineate the desirable boundaries of the City of Lafayette, <br /> with as much precision as possible, recognizing that change is inevitable <br /> and proper. <br /> 2. That the City Council for the primary purpose of providing <br /> for orderly growth and proper sequential development of the City, and in <br /> an on going effort to promote the health, safety and welfare of the <br /> citizens, both present and potential, wishes to encourage those annexations <br /> necessary to achieve the boundaries shown on the attached map. <br /> 3. That the City Council states that the development of water <br /> resources, including but not limited to raw water, storage, supply and <br /> distributions, is an on going developmental process as is the operation <br /> and expansion of the municipal sewer system and that in dynamic terms the <br /> City may or may not be able to extend utility services to newly annexed <br /> areas immediately upon annexation and the City Council desires that this <br /> - be made clear to applicants for annexation. <br /> ',4,-That the City Council will review each application for annex- <br /> ation and will requtra ement of estimated water requirements from <br /> the apt/l`[-dot and f =..Jt1 YCJ t C ` to a4visa app1 t,.Q41La reyardisny ate <br /> t <br />
