ITEMS FROM PEOPLE IN Mr. Jack Lang passed out a letter to Mayor ATTENDANCE NOT APPEARING and all members of the Council regarding ON THE AGENDA Sproul annexation as well as the press, and an opinion poll taken containing 712 signatures. Mr. Lang then read the letter in entirety expressing opposition to Sproul annexation and requiring the issue be brought to a vote of the people, by special election. Mayor Waschak stated that he was alarmed that only the opposition were present and none of the local citizens supporting the annexation were present to express their opinion. • N ° 14 Councilwoman Scholl expressed her appreciation to the people in attendance for their opinion, even though she may or may not be in accord. Mr. Conarroe expressed his concern regarding the referendum vote each time an issue comes lr ' up that causes a controversy. Councilman Berry stated his opinion that most people were concerned with "controlled growth' and he knew of no better way to N...,ss\ss\ control growth than to annex.
