. ,
411 411
208 CONTINUED all the time.
Councilman DiLorons° stated that at the
208 seminar this was not what was said.
She stated that the governor will be the
one to appoint who will manage what area.
She stated that each basin will have its
own management for the first two years.
Update plans would have to be brought in
twic each year in those two years, and
this is bow the overall management will
be picked out.
In the entire area there are 31 members
and there will be a representative from
each area on the Citizen Advisory Com-
mittee to DRCOG.
Councilman Caranci stated that he thought
the City had asked that the Coal Creek
basin be designated as the sixth basin.
Councilman DiLorenzo stated that it was
DHCOG;s recommendation that the Coal Creek
Basin be designated as the sixth basin.
Mr. hurl stated that DRCOG h..s acknow-
ledged their support of the sixth basin,
but the problem they have is that each
basin will have a recommendation as to
who should be the management of that
basin when it goes to the governor.
Mr. Wurl stated that the problem with our
basin is that there will ultimately be
four entities involved and Boulder County
is suggesting that they be the management
agency.
Mr. hurl stated that he felt that Coal
Creek Association should be the management
as the Association is already formed and
would be able to do a better job for the
basin; therefore, he is recommending to
Council that they support the recommendation
that Coal Cr€a;; Association be put in
charge of the management for the sixth
basin.
Councilman DiLorenzo stated that they used
the Coal Creek Basin as the example at
the seminar since it was a unique situation.
Mr. Wurl stated that these recommendations
are based on a promise that a sixth basin
is allowed. He stated that DRCOG will
make those recommendations and then there
is the final step that the governor must
agree with all the recommendations.
After discussion Councilman DiLorenzo
moved that Council take the following
action:
-9-
