Colorado eoam► <br /> MINUTES OF LOUISVILLE PARKS & RECREATION MEETING, FEBRUARY 2, 1978. <br /> Vice Chairman Larry Springer called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. <br /> Members present: J. Purcell, K. Ferrara, S. Ryan & L. Springer. <br /> Members absent: K. Helart and R. Pickett. <br /> Also present: A. Hioco. <br /> The minutes of the January 9th meeting were read and approved. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> • <br /> a. The deteriorating concrete and seepage around the pool was <br /> discussed again. It was decided that as soon as these plans <br /> are complete the job must be done or take the chance of <br /> losing 3 large sections of concrete. <br /> b. Ben Symanski has been named senior maintenance man for the <br /> Parks Dept. All work orders will come from the city adminis- <br /> trator's office or the director of community development. <br /> Daily checks will be made with the P&R office for emergency <br /> items. <br /> c. The swim team suits and banner are being ordered at Gamelines. <br /> Director said he has tried to get these locally, but the local <br /> sporting goods store is not able to stock these items. <br /> d. The 2nd session of the After-School program will be held on <br /> February 7th and 9th and each Tuesday and Thursday thru <br /> March 23rd. <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT: <br /> 1. Notice of Little League baseball registration will be in <br /> The Times on February 9th and 16th. In-town fee is $15.00 <br /> and out-of-town residence, $16.00. <br /> 2. We will also advertise for summer pool help. Jobs to be <br /> filled are: Pool supervisors, guards, cashiers, and basket <br /> room personnel. Selections for these jobs will be made by <br /> the end of March. <br /> 3. A Louisville resident is interested in starting a local soccer <br /> team, and entering the Boulder Junior Soccer league. August <br /> said he would not have the manpower to organize a team, but <br /> could provide a practice field. The board decided if coaching, <br /> a representative and transportation can be guaranteed they <br /> would approve sponsoring a team. <br /> 4. Several of the sporting events which have been scheduled for <br /> the Louisville Centennial celebration by that committee are <br /> cont'd. <br />
