'7"
M E M O R A N D U M •
•
TO: Lean Marl 1
City Administrator f
FROM: David C. Stahl, Director
Department of Parks and # Ution
DATE: March 30. 1979
RE: Louisville Community Center Recreation Complex
As you are aware in December of 1978 the City had
Keith Carney and The Landplan Design Group develope dia-
grams and programs for a Community Center and outdoor
recreation complex.
The first phase was completed in January and was
necessary to not only develops the initial cost estimates
and for future departmental operational costs. These
figures were needed and included in the cost benefit
section of the Impact Statement for the Centennial Valley
Annexation.
The meeting at which we presented the programs and
diagrams to the Planning Commission and City Council it
appeared that their response was positive and that the
basic concept presented was acceptable to them.
Thin next step in the planning process is to define
the actual floorplan, building character, and a very definite
cost estimate_
When the second phase of the process is concluded the
staff and City Council will have the information necessary
to determine if the entire project is financially feasible
for Louisville at this time, or if staged development is a
more viable plan.
As you may recall, at the time we instructed the
Architect and Planners to begin the first phase we obtained
a commitment for the actual cost for completing the second
phase if it were needed. That figure war. $9,000.00 plus
direct costs.
B
