411 <br /> REGULAR MEETING LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL JULY 7, 1981 <br /> Mayor-Pro-tm Fauson called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. with the follow- <br /> ing Council members present: DelPizzo, Fauson, Brown, Meier and Domenico. <br /> Absent: Mayor Caranci, Councilman Cummings, and Acting City Clerk Mudrock. <br /> Also present were: City Administrator Wurl, City Attorney Rautenatraus, <br /> City Treasurer Hasson, Director of Community Development Rupp, Police <br /> Chief Leesman, Director of Community Services Hioco, Chief Accountant <br /> Caranci, City Engineer Blanchard and Deputy Clerk McClard. <br /> ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES Mayor Pro-tem Fauson and council approved <br /> the minutes of the regular meeting of June <br /> 16, 1981 as presented. <br /> ITEMS ENCLOSED Councilman Brown moved that the items en- <br /> closed be accepted and brought up under <br /> the proper head of business. Seconded by <br /> Councilman Domenico. Question called for. <br /> All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> COUNCIL ITEMS Councilman DelPizzo moved that the Special <br /> AMERICAN LEGION SPECIAL EVENTS Events liquor license application for the <br /> LIQUOR LICENSE - SET DATE American Legion be accepted as presented <br /> FOR PUBLIC HEARING and a Public Hearing be set for July 21, <br /> 1981. Seconded by Councilman Meier. <br /> Question called for. All in favor. Motion <br /> carried 5-0. <br /> PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE NOT Janet Kinder advised Council that she <br /> APPEARING ON THE AGENDA was representing the residents of the Hills- <br /> Janet Kinder - boro West Subdivision and had a petition <br /> Grasshoppers dealing with the control of the grasshopper <br /> infestation in their area. She distributed <br /> a copy of the petition to members of Council <br /> which contained approximately 120 signatures. <br /> The petition stated concerns of the destruc- <br /> tion of gardens, flowers, trees, seeded <br /> lawns, sod and a decrease in property value. <br /> Other concerns were health hazards resulting <br /> from continued use of poisons as well as <br /> local wildlife destruction. They were re- <br /> questing that the Louisville Parka and Rec. <br /> Dept. resolve the problem by destroying the <br /> grasshoppers with noxema spore, and that <br /> the City take steps to contact the developers <br /> in the outlying areas to destroy the grass- <br /> hoppers by the same method. <br /> Ms. Kinder thanked Councilman Fauson and <br /> Director Hioco for their efforts and concern <br /> in dealing with the problem. <br /> gl LAT e <br />
