4 .
MEMO
TO; MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
FROM: LEON A. WURL, CITY ADMINISTRATOR
DATE: DECEMBER 17, 1982
RE: CITY COUNCIL AGENDA FOR THE REGULAR MEETING OF DECEMBER 21, 1982
Item 1. Self explanatory
Item 2. Self explanatory
Item 3. Self explanatory
Item 4. Items enclosed should be accepted and brought up under the proper
head of business.
Item 5. Council Items
A. Board of Adjustment Appointment - Enclosed in the packet is
a letter from Norman Laurence who was the only applicant
for the vacant position and also enclosed is a copy of the
notice in the Louisville Time requesting letters of interest.
B. DRCOG- Consideration of the traffic plan and update. We have
enclosed in the packet the information relating to this item.
The matter has been presented to the Chief Administrative0fficer's
Committee and the Transportation Committee and testimony was
heard, I think on the 15th at a hearing by DRCOG Board references.
Our position to date has been of opposition to the plan, the
reasons are outlined in my letter that I might just re-state
those basically. We initially were opposed because the
Superior Interchange did not appear as one that was going to be
reconstructed as per their definition, two; they did not respond
to our request to place the proposed 96th Street Interchange
on the map, or the future improvement in construction of .
96th to connect with highway 42 as a major arterial. It is our
recommendation to continue to oppose the adoption of the plan
until our recommendations appear as part of the package. We will
be prepared to discuss this matter further with Council.
Item 6 . Items from people in attendance not appearing on the agenda.
Item 7. City Attorney's Report
A. Resolution #38 - Louisville Medical Association. This resolution
provides for the setting of the date for the public hearing on
Industrial Revenue Bonds requested by the Association.
B. Resolution #39 - Adopt Construction Standards and Specifications
Under separate cover we are sending a copy of our Construction
Standards and Specifications which have recently been completed
by the Engineering Department and we are requesting Council to
adopt these by resolution as the updated standards for the con-
struction of water lines sewer mains , storm drains facilities
etc.
