All in favor. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> RECESS Mayor Meier called a recess at 8:46 P.M. <br /> Meeting reconvened at 9:02 P.M. <br /> CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S <br /> REPORT <br /> LAKE PARK IMPROVEMENTS/ Councilmembers had a copy of a memo from <br /> DESIGN CONCEPTS - SLECTION Director of Community Services Hioco on <br /> OF DESIGN FIRM this item and he advised that there had <br /> been a change in the Capital Improvements <br /> program whereby the Lake Park project had <br /> been moved up. He had sent out ten RFP's <br /> for the project and received proposals from <br /> nine compan4;es - six of which were in- - - <br /> terviewed. In the proposal request, 3 wanted <br /> items were listed in the Scope of Services: <br /> (i) The evaluation of the Lake Park area. <br /> (2) Thfee schematic designs of the Park area <br /> 13) 24" x 36" plan view of schematic design. <br /> Of the companies interviewed Landplan Design <br /> Group really impressed the staff. Included <br /> in their fee of $9 ,825 they would bring in <br /> a biologist to review the lake situation. <br /> In 1980 this was basically a swamp area with <br /> a lot of mosquitoes, overgrowth, etc. <br /> Some chemicals have been placed in the lake <br /> as well as some fish for children to catch. <br /> However, in the winter time they die out. <br /> Landplan company proposes to aerate the lake <br /> and recommend improvements around it. They <br /> did do a large project in Arvada - Lake Arbor. <br /> Mr. Hioco provided council with pictures of <br /> this and other areas involving a situation <br /> as Lake Park. <br /> Mr. Hioco stated his first choice would be <br /> Landplan Design Group and his second choice <br /> is HOH. He also passed around a resume of <br /> Mr. White who worked for Landplan Design <br /> for Council's review. <br /> In reply to Councilman Luce' s question, Mr. <br /> Hioco stated there were no plans to enlarge <br /> the lake at this time. He had spoken with <br /> the City engineers and there were some con- <br /> cerns about the east bank being enlarged, <br /> but has not yet been confirmed - to hold <br /> mroe water for the 100 year flood. <br />
