He had sent out ten RFP's
for the project and received proposals from
nine compan4;es - six of which were in- - -
terviewed. In the proposal request, 3 wanted
items were listed in the Scope of Services:
(i) The evaluation of the Lake Park area.
(2) Thfee schematic designs of the Park area
13) 24" x 36" plan view of schematic design.
Of the companies interviewed Landplan Design
Group really impressed the staff. Included
in their fee of $9 ,825 they would bring in
a biologist to review the lake situation.
In 1980 this was basically a swamp area with
a lot of mosquitoes, overgrowth, etc.
Some chemicals have been placed in the lake
as well as some fish for children to catch.
However, in the winter time they die out.
Landplan company proposes to aerate the lake
and recommend improvements around it. They
did do a large project in Arvada - Lake Arbor.
Mr. Hioco provided council with pictures of
this and other areas involving a situation
as Lake Park.
Mr. Hioco stated his first choice would be
Landplan Design Group and his second choice
is HOH. He also passed around a resume of
Mr. White who worked for Landplan Design
for Council's review.
In reply to Councilman Luce' s question, Mr.
Hioco stated there were no plans to enlarge
the lake at this time. He had spoken with
the City engineers and there were some con-
cerns about the east bank being enlarged,
but has not yet been confirmed - to hold
mroe water for the 100 year flood.
