Creating a public
forum to allow people to speak on the issue would
be more appropriate. Leary asked the petitioners
for their feelings on this issue.
Randy Carnival, iii South Place, circulator of the
petition, spoke to Council stating that the
petition directs the City Council of the City of
Louisville to put this issue to the vote of the
people. Is would not like to see a public hearing
on t e roposed ordinance. It is his feeling that
the petition shows enough interest in the issue to
decide on the November 5, 196S, election.
Carnival asked that Council recommend the proposed
ordinanos be put on the ballot.
Carnival also asked Council to separate and
clarify which of the two tax increase issues they
are speaking to when vonaenting on either
proposal.
