05/05/87
Mohr stated that a W-470 Task Force Community
Meeting is scheduled for May 20th at 7130 p.a.
This will allow for community information and
. input on the proposed project. A consultant
retained by DRCOG will be present to make a presen-
tation and open it up to public discussion.
Mayor Fsuson read a letter that was sent to Acorn
Windows regarding inferior windows in some Pults
Roses in Windmill Point. The letter asking for
their cooperation in replacing these windows as
quickly as possible was signed by the Mayor and
Councilmen Sackett and Scarpella.
PUBLIC COMMENTS None.
COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE
REPORTS Anderson stated that there is a Boulder County
Consortium meeting tomorrow evening wherein they
will set a public educational session on the ques-
tion of open space. Anderson also asked for an
update on the South Boulder Road project.
Phare explained that the rain has set the project
somewhat behind in the actual road project.
However, the synchronisation of the signal light
project becomes more and more likely as that
project is on schedule. Projected completion time
is first of June.
Lawman stated the speed limit has been reduced
through the project, but there is still trouble
with speeding on South Boulder Road.
Carnival asked staff what can be resolved as a
result of the Ditch Company depositing debris along
the ditches. icrisko stated that his department is
trying to remove the debris from the bike paths,
but there are many areas where large deposits of
mud and branches have been stacked especially along
Via Appia which may be in the ditch easement area.
Erisko felt that the City is lacking in manpower to
remove the debris in any quick manner.
The problem arises in that the Ditch Companies
have prescriptive easements/right-of-ways where
much of the debris is. Anderson referred to City
ordinances that may not allow this type of debris
regardless of whether or not it is on public or
private land. Mayor Pauson stated that it has been
difficult in the past to find someone with the
organisation who could take action and work with
the City by virtue of the fact that they are a
'loosely organised group.'
•
