The City will give lot 2 to the
Boulder Valley School District for consideration
and the district will purchase lot 1 from Somart
at market value. The two lots are then available
to BVSD for a future school site. The City and
BVSD have executed an agreement relating to the
land dedication and to the shared use of the new
school facility. The district has agreed to
accept partial 'fair share" pro rata costs for
street paving, street lighting, sidewalks, curb
and gutter, utilities and tap fees. Planning
Commission recommended approval at the March 10,
1987, public hearing.
Anderson commented that he was pleased that this
agreement is being adopted tonight. This
agreement "addresses the needs and concerns for
providing adequate space for school aged children
and I hope this maybe gives a little lead to other
communities to provide at the elementary school
level the opportunity for the School District to
have a quality site and a planned location that
will benefit the community. I think this is the
first step in solving the problems of facilities
that the School District has - this is a step in
the right direction to finally begin a good
working relationship with the School District that
allows us to work together on this matter.'
Anderson moved that Resolution 812 be approved.
Siymanski seconded.
