DISCUSSION - POW WOW
GROUNDS Hundley explained that a letter was received from
Herm Schempp requesting to speak to Council. Mr.
Schempp is asking Council consideration of changing
the zoning on his property otherwise known as the
Pow Wow Grounds. Mr. Schempp requested rezoning of
his property from Agricultural to Commercial Zoning
last year. Planning Commission reviewed his request
and voted 3-3, thereby failing to support or
recommend approval of this zone change. Mr. Schempp
subsequently withdrew his rezoning request.
Mr. Schempp explained to Council that although his
property is zoned Agricultural he is being taxed as
if it were zoned Commercial. He has appealed to the
County Commissioners but has not had his tax status
changed. Mr. Schempp asked Council for their help
and consideration in this matter.
Mayor Pauson agreed to write to the County
Commissioners to review this issue and reconsider
the assessment of this property.
OTHER:
REQUEST FOR DONATION - LOUISVILLE YOUTH ACTIVITIES
ASSOCIATION Eundley stated that he had received a letter from
]ken Ferrara, President of the Louisville Youth
Activities Association, requesting a $400
contribution from the City for the LYAA's
calendar/raffle project.
Council discussed the City's financial status and
discussed the recommendation from the City's Finance
Committee of a contribution of $200. Carnival ab-
stained from discussion as he an active member of
the Association.
Mohr moved that the City contribute $200 to the LYAA
for their calendar/raffle project. Sackett
seconded. Although some members wished the amount
could be more, the motion was approved 6-0 with
Carnival abstaining.
LOUISVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE - STREET CLOSURE REQUEST FOR
LABOR DAY The Chamber of Commerce submitted a letter to
Council requesting certain street closures during
events over the Labor Day Weekend Celebration.
Mayor Pauson moved that their request be approved.
Mohr seconded. Unanimous.
BUDGET SESSION - SET DATE FOR COUNCIL
WORE SESSION Hundley reminded Council that a Budget Session has
been scheduled for August 30, 10am - 4pm.
6
