Ferris recommended <br /> moving the Council Meeting to Thursday, November 5, <br /> 1987. <br /> Ferris also stated that the recent Ward boundary <br /> changes did not change the polling places in those <br /> wards. <br /> Szymanski moved that the first Council Meeting in <br /> November be moved to November 5, 1987. Unanimous. <br /> AUTHORIZATION TO OBTAIN BIDS - REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND <br /> CLEANING EQUIPMENT AT <br /> CITY SHOPS Phare explained that since January of this year, the <br /> Public Works Department has had a number of <br /> equipment malfunctions of the traffic signal <br /> equipment, at the intersection of Main Street/So. <br /> Boulder Road/Centennial Drive. These malfunctions <br /> have caused numerous complaints on the operation of <br /> the traffic signal controller and some expense for <br /> maintaining the controller. The Public Works <br /> Department has reviewed the status of the controller <br /> and found that the current traffic controller is of <br /> questionable reliability and should be replaced. <br /> Replacement of the controller is indicated because <br /> the manufacturer of the controller is no longer in <br /> business and the replacement parts are difficult if <br /> not impossible to obtain. Discussion with traffic <br /> signal maintenance contractors indicates that if the <br /> equipment should break down, it would be likely that <br /> replacement of the controller would be the only <br /> option available to the City. Should the equipment <br /> fail it would be days if not weeks before permanent <br /> replacement equipment could be obtained.
