eight-feet west, which would be within the right-of-way. The additional laneage for left turns on <br />96th Street is proposed by widening to the west only. The east side of 96th Street north of Dillon <br />Road contains a large stand of mature trees, making it difficult to widen to the east. A proposed <br />cost sharing agreement has been presented to Storage Technology and staff is awaiting their final <br />comments. Phare stated he would like to present a change order to the current street construction <br />contract along with a cost sharing agreement with STK for approval at the next City Council <br />meeting and proceed with the project. This would enable construction to begin around the first part <br />of October. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Council comments and questions. <br /> <br />Sisk inquired what the anticipated completion date would be. <br /> <br />Phare replied the project is expected to take approximately three weeks, with installation of the <br />traffic signal to follow the road paving. <br /> <br />Keany inquired what type of traffic delays would result from the project. <br /> <br />Phare replied that a majority of the project could be completed without interrupting traffic flow, <br />although it may be necessary to close one lane at times. He agreed to negotiate terms with the <br />contractor to eliminate peak hours as much as possible. <br /> <br />Keany requested that every attempt be made to avoid traffic delays during the project. <br /> <br />Mayer moved that Council authorize staff to negotiate a change order to the 1998 Street <br />Reconstruction Project for the work related to the Dillon Road and 96th Street intersection, with <br />the change order and a cost sharing agreement with Storage Technology to be presented to City <br />Council for final approval at a later date, seconded by Keany. <br /> <br />All in favor. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION/DIRECTION - AREAS & ACTIVITIES OF STATE INTEREST ACT - 1041 <br /> REGULATIONS <br /> <br />Mayer stated that he requested Council discuss the proposed 1041 Regulations which the County <br />is considering for adoption, specifically the transportation requirements.
