<br /> RESOLUTION #5 <br /> SERIES 1989 <br />WHEREAS the City Council has adopted Ordinance #981, Series 1989, <br />providing for an increase in the City Sales Tax from 2% to 3% and <br />imposing a 3% Use Tax on commercial building materials and vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS the qualified electors of Louisville will be asked to approve <br />or disapprove Ordinance #98l, Series 1989, at a Special Election set <br />for March 21, 1989; and <br />WHEREAS the City Council has determined the following projects to <br />be necessary and beneficial to the community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of <br />Louisville, Colorado that if the voters approve Ordinance #98l, Series <br />1989, the following projects will be funded in whole or in part with the <br />proceeds from the sales tax increase: <br />1) A Community Recreation Center including, but not limited to, a <br />25 meter indoor pool, gymnasium, exercise areas, whirlpool, steam <br />room, sauna, and special activity areas for infants and seniors; <br />2) Improvements to the Louisville downtown including storm <br />drainage improvements, curb and gutter replacement, signage, <br />landscaping and additional parking areas; <br />3) Completion of the four-lane improvements to South <br />Boulder Road from Highway 42 east to the Louisville City <br />limits; and <br />4) Acquisition of the Fischer Building located at 950 <br />Spruce Street for the purpose of relocating the Louisville <br />Public Library. <br />Adopted and approved this 7th day of February, 1989. <br /> ~k~ <br /> Herman Fauson, Mayor <br />Approved as to form: <br />~-\:\~ <br />Steph n T.
