-~, .

them and the downtown area. Last of all
I would like to say that I do not
support this proj ect because the
northwest gateway of the community is
very beautiful right now and I would
like to see that continue. I think
responsible development is important and
I would like to see projects and a
business environment continue in our
community, but I don't think this is the
project.

Ron Weber, 1445 Truman ct.

Weber: It has been stated that the neighbors
don't want this area commercial, we want
it open space. No, we don't want it
commercial period, open space had
nothing to do with it. I had a lot of
problems with the whole proposal. In
the past I have always supported,
strong, good and right development of
the communi ty. I see this as an
inconsistent use of the surrounding
area. It is surrounded by residential.
It would become an island of commercial.
It is not a true commercial crossroads.
It will provide a situation where you do
not have ease of access by surrounding
communities. If you look at the K-Mart
and Centennial sites, you have a
situation where they create a counter
supportive network to the downtown and
village areas. I don't want to see our
tax dollars go down over the hill.
Let's keep our shopping here. The
theater is a carrot. In the past two
years four of the theaters in Boulder
have shut down. There are too many
theaters in the area. This Council,
this city should not rubber stamp
anything that would increase the
valuation to any individual. A bad
idea, is a bad idea, is a bad idea and
this council sitting before us, they are
our elected leaders and they have an
obligation to identify ideas that are
harmful to our city. If this is a bad
idea it should be rejected to save us in
the city, a whole lot of time and
expense.

chuck Myers, 1863 W. Plum Circle

Myers: I would like to read and quote a letter

5
