--, .
better understand, while all along I've been
totting the wide corridor which allows for the
technical committee to come in and place the
highway wherever they feel that not only meets the
needs of the highway, but cost factors and
replacement of individuals and all that comes into
effect. Lets continue the scenario and say we put
the road out as far out into the open space, where
I'd like to see it as we possibly can. Tell me
then how the 96th street, if we don't use the 96th
street alignment, who builds that out and how do
we get it connected to 42 eventually (that John
keeps referring to), where does that money come
from ?
Hornbostel: Tom Phare and I sat down and said, ok, what are
all the possible scenarios: that this thing goes
to the open space; it goes a little to the south;
if it makes a curve; if it stays in that grade;
what are the things that we need. So what we did
is put all the specifics in there. One of the
reasons we're getting resistance is because
they're saying if you put all these specifics in
there you're really going to tie our hands, but on
the other hand, the one thing we were trying to
make sure we had, say they made a curve out of it,
well what we have in there is that we will have
access from 96th and Dillon Road to that curve, if
it's not in that grade intersection. The other
portion that we put in there is if there is a need
for frontage roads that those frontage roads are
also covered. Those are some of the things we
have been negotiating and when you get your form
of it, all of this is in Exhibit B. Look at it
and see if you think we have gotten those things
accomplished, because we think we have and what we
tried to say was that if they were all different
we're still going to have our access. We tried to
be specific, so that those access points are
guaranteed in writing. Tom, was it your feeling
yesterday that they were saying they were going to
fund us getting an access between 96th and if they
do the curve, or wasn't it your feeling?
Phare: If they do the curve from 96th to Dillon, they
were going to provide access at Superior Inter-
change? I thought Exhibit B said that was the
interchange to be considered in the future, you
would still have an access at grade, but not an
interchange to start with.
Carni val :- At grade at Dillon and 96th?
Phare: Yes, somehow in that curve they chose that they
5
