Received public comment from a resident concerned about Warembourg
social trails. The board felt that off usage of trail systems that are off of the trail
system should be mitigated if possible. The board agreed that the issue should
be discussed as an agenda item for future board meetings.

4. Another public comment from Arthur Phelps stating that Hecla Lake was not
on the goals list and he stated that he was concerned that Hecla Lake was not on
the OSAB's 2010 goal list. Additionally, he was concerned about trash removal at
the lake.

Board Updates:

1. Spencer Guthrie stated that he went to the weed pull and it was well
attended with a group meeting at Vic's in downtown Louisville @ 8 am
Wednesday every week to organize weed pulls

Discussion Channel 54 Announcements
Lori Laingar from the Chanel 54 board stated that they have nine new
members and they are very excited to collaborate on OSAB issues with the
channel. Additionally, they suggested they have many volunteers that would be
interested in working with OSAB and may even be able to dedicate a show for
Open Space issues. Tom asked how much time would be available and Laurie
stated that it would depend on the request and that they would be flexible. Laurie
stated that it would cost approximately $300.00 dollars for a 30-minute show.
OSAB stated that they have many ideas and look forward to working together in
the future.

Discussion Educational Initiative in Local Schools
Larry developed an itemized sheet that could be distributed to teachers at
local schools aimed at increasing education regarding Open Space. Tom stated
that the teachers he spoke to (2nd to 5th grade) with recommended starting
education with children at a young age in order to engage students. Additionally,
Tom stated that Fireside Elementary received the idea positively. Ember asked
how many times a year they would like each class to participate and Tom stated
that he did not ask that question and would follow up with an answer. Spencer
asked what could be done organizationally to move this forward. Tom replied that
we should start making a list of topics of the key points that need to be
communicated. Justin suggested that OSAB coordinate with a local teacher
(possibly at Fireside Elementary) in order to gain insight into their curriculum so
OSAB can integrate educational goals concerning OSAB.
