-_..
recover from Mr. Evans.
Evans: To address that, I have talked to my
homeowners insurance agent. I would be liable
for any liability caused by my activity or
anything I have done or by having horses on
that property.
Griffiths: It would be standard for his agreement to state
that he would indemnify the City for any claims
against the City related to his activities and that
he would maintain, inforce, an insurance policy
that would cover his liability so that there would
be funds there in the event that an injury
occurred. All those things would be a
necessary, at least in my perspective, part of an
agreement.
Davidson: I view open space as open space for use of all
the citizens of Louisville and, as such, I don't
think it is appropriate to lease it out for any
reason. It was acquired for the use of all the
citizens of Louisville. I think the purpose of
open space is for the general use of the
population of the City of Louisville, therefore,
I would not favor leasing open space for any
reason.
Sackett: There are some benefits to being able to see
animals grazing and those types of things. I
think we have a lot of open space where if we
could plan, we'd say, "We'd like to have cows
grazing in that area, or we would like to have
llamas in this area." It would still function as a
benefit to the type of lifestyle we are trying to
develop. In my mind open space doesn't truly
need to be dedicated to vacant land and I think
there is something of a benefit, you feel good.
6
